Seminar for employees of drinking water suppliers and wastewater managers

For the third year in a row, Beata Vilienė and Linas Vilys, lawyers of the AVIP Law Firm, together with the Institute of Water Management, organised a seminar for employees of drinking water suppliers, wastewater managers and surface wastewater managers. This year, the topic of the seminar was: “Changes in the legal regulation of drinking water supply and wastewater management and practical insights into their implementation”.
The following was discussed during the seminar:
- Expected legal regulatory changes related to Directive (EU) 2020/2184 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2020 on the quality of water intended for human consumption;
- Performance of wastewater and surface wastewater management contracts, after a recast version of the Law on Drinking Water Supply and Waste Water Management comes into force as of 16 November 2022;
- The rights and obligations of the public water supplier and wastewater manager in the field of individual supply of drinking water and individual wastewater management according to the changed legal regulation;
- Latest case law in disputes between drinking water suppliers and wastewater managers and consumers and subscribers;
Recent case law on the liability of public drinking water suppliers and waste water managers for pollution tax violations and what lessons have been learned from it.
